Biography
With over 27 years of experience exclusively as a litigation attorney, having handled hundreds of cases and trying well over 100 medical malpractice cases, Brewster is among the most experienced medical malpractice lawyers you will find anywhere. He is well known for being able to get to the core of issues of almost any case and focusing on what matters to get the best results for his clients. After growing up in a military family, following college, Brewster served as a Field Artillery Officer in the Army with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) before going to law school and starting his legal career. In his first job as a lawyer he went to work with an established defense firm in Abingdon, Virginia where he learned how to help clients and try cases, quite frequently appearing in the courts found in the coal fields of southwest Virginia. In late 1986 Brewster moved to Richmond and joined the firm McGuire Woods, a large firm, where he was involved in products liability and commercial litigation. Moving to another firm in 1988, Brewster started focusing his practice on medical malpractice cases and rapidly gained a reputation as a skilled trial lawyer who was not afraid to try tough cases. Brewster founded his firm in 1996 intending from the start that it would be a law firm that only did what it could do well. The practice was focused on cases involving complex medicine. He also wanted a firm where the lawyers and staff could focus on the one thing that really matters: giving the best service and getting the best results for clients.
Brewster and his family are well established in Richmond. They are active in the children's schools and activities. Brewster has served as the head of his church's governing board and has been active in many other community activities, including his current service on the board of directors for James River Writers.
